The University of Birmingham Scholarship

University of Birmingham, incepted in 1900 and ranked among the world’s top 100 universities, is offering scholarships worth £1 million to Indian students for the session 2024-25. These merit-based scholarships cover undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in several fields, including Business, Computer Science, Arts & Law and Environmental Sciences.


For undergraduates, 20 Outstanding Achievement Scholarships worth £4,000 each are on offer. Postgraduate students can also apply for 15 India Chancellor Scholarships offering £2,000 to each student. Moreover, the Global Masters Scholarships provide £2,000 scholarships to all qualified international students, including those from India.


The University has a great research history, with its researchers winning 10 Nobel Prizes. From leading organ transplants to unfolding the secrets of Shakespeare, Birmingham University has been leading consistently at the forefront of innovation.


Scholarships available for Indian students


DeepMind Scholarships:
Three Postgraduate taught masters scholarships worth £52,565 each, covering tuition fees (£27,540), living costs (£19,345), conference attendance (£2200), equipment purchase (£1700) and relocation expenses (£1870).

UG Outstanding Achievement Scholarships:
Available for select Indian undergraduate students in several fields (excluding Medicine and Dentistry), offering a scholarship worth £4,000 to each student.

Last date to apply: April 30, 2024.


PG India Chancellor Scholarships:
Fifteen £2,000 scholarships reserved for select Indian postgraduate applicants (except MPhil, MRes, MMus, MLit, PGDip and PGCert programmes) across a number of courses.

Last date to apply: May 31, 2024.


Global Masters Scholarships:
£2,000 scholarships for international students, including Indian students, pursuing taught Masters Degrees.

Last date to apply: May 31, 2024.


GREAT Scholarships 2024:
£10,000 scholarship for Indian students who will apply for postgraduate courses in the College of Arts and Law (except Law LLM and MSc).

Last date to apply: April 5, 2024.


The GEES Global Futures Scholarships (India):
£2,000 tuition fee scholarship for Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught masters programmes in Geography, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Urban and Regional Planning and Public and Environmental Health.


Last date to apply: Students applying for PGT programmes are advised to apply immediately because just a few scholarships are available. For UG programmes, scholarship will be applicable on registration of the students.


Million Pound Scholarship Fund for Business School Master’s Students:
Birmingham Business School is offering a number of scholarships for M.Sc. students, varying from partial to full tuition fee waiver.

Last date to apply: March 15, 2024 – Decision by April 30, 2024, and May 15, 2024 – Decision by June 28, 2024.
